Luxury events in Lanzarote

Black lava, white walls and an island shaped by one artist's rules. Evenings here look like nowhere else.

01 — The island

An island designed with restraint.

Lanzarote looks the way it does partly by accident and partly by design. The eruptions of the 1730s buried around a quarter of the island under lava and ash, leaving the landscape of Timanfaya. Two centuries later, the artist César Manrique persuaded the island to protect what it had: low white houses, no billboards, no tower blocks. In 1993 UNESCO declared the whole of Lanzarote a Biosphere Reserve.

For an event, that means a setting quieter and more graphic than Tenerife or Gran Canaria — lava fields against the sky, whitewashed walls, vines growing in black volcanic hollows. It suits smaller, considered gatherings: a dinner where the landscape is the decoration, a celebration for a few dozen people that could not have happened anywhere else.

We plan Lanzarote events from our base in Tenerife, with the island's own venues, chefs and crews, and our team on the ground for the days that matter.

02 — Where evenings happen

Lava, vines and white walls.

The island is small, and each part of it gives an evening a different character:

Manrique's spaces

Some of the places César Manrique shaped — such as Jameos del Agua, built into a volcanic tube — are run by the island's cultural centres and can host private events by arrangement, on their own calendar.

La Geria

Vines planted in black volcanic ash, each sheltered by a half-moon stone wall; long lunches and tastings of the dry local malvasía.

Villas

Contemporary villas around Playa Blanca, Puerto Calero and the quieter inland villages, many built to the same low white lines.

Marina Rubicón

The marina at Playa Blanca, starting point for charters to the Papagayo coves and across the strait toward Lobos and Fuerteventura.

The north

Clifftop views from the Mirador del Río over La Graciosa, and small fishing villages for relaxed seafood lunches.

Under the stars

Dark, clear skies make a late candlelit dinner outdoors a natural fit — with a sheltered plan for windy nights.

03 — Practicalities

The wind, the light and the logistics.

Lanzarote is drier and windier than the western islands; the trade winds blow steadily, especially in summer. We design for it — sheltered terraces, weighted styling, structures that stay put — and always keep a covered alternative. The reward is the light: clear skies, long sunsets and very little rain.

César Manrique-Lanzarote Airport connects with most of Europe and handles private aviation; for guests flying in that way, the arrival and transfers are coordinated as part of the plan. Fuerteventura is a short ferry ride from Playa Blanca, so an event can easily take in both islands.

04 — Questions

What people ask us first.

Do you plan events in Lanzarote?

Yes. We plan private events across all seven Canary Islands, Lanzarote included, working with the island's venues, chefs and crews and travelling there for site visits and the event itself.

Can we hold an event at a César Manrique site?

Some of the spaces run by the island's cultural centres accept private events by arrangement, on their own terms and calendar. We ask on your behalf and, if a date isn't available, suggest settings with a similar spirit.

Can we have an event inside Timanfaya National Park?

Timanfaya is strictly protected and is not a place for private events. Guests can visit the park as part of an itinerary, and we choose venues outside it that look onto the same volcanic landscape.

Is Lanzarote too windy for an outdoor event?

Not if the event is planned for it. We choose sheltered terraces and courtyards, use structures and styling built for wind, and agree a covered alternative in advance. Evenings are often calmer than afternoons.

How many guests suit an event in Lanzarote?

The island suits intimate events especially well — from a dinner for ten to a celebration of around a hundred. Larger events are possible but need earlier planning, as there are fewer large venues than on Tenerife or Gran Canaria.
