Planning an event in Tenerife from abroad

Most of the people we work with plan their event from another country. What to know before you start: timings, seasons, travel and the local details that make the difference.

When to start

For a private dinner or a villa party, two to three months is comfortable. For events with guests flying in from several countries, start four to six months ahead: flights, hotel rooms and the best villas are the first things to go. Christmas, New Year, Easter, Carnival in February and summer weekends need the most notice.

The best months

Tenerife is mild all year, which is why it works for events in any season. In the south, daytime temperatures typically sit in the low twenties in winter and the high twenties in summer, and rain is rare. Evenings are cooler than people expect from November to March, so outdoor dinners need heaters or wraps; summer evenings are warm enough to stay outside until late.

Sunset moves more than the temperature: from around a quarter past six in December to nearly nine o'clock in late June. It shapes the whole timetable — when guests arrive, when the boat leaves, when the lights come on.

Getting there

Tenerife South airport has direct flights from most European cities — roughly four hours from London and much of northern Europe, and under three from Madrid. Tenerife North handles mainly domestic and inter-island flights. Guests flying privately can land at either; we coordinate the arrival with the aircraft's handling team and the transfers, so the trip continues without a wait.

Local details that matter

Many holiday villas prohibit events in their rental contracts, so the right property has to be agreed with its owner in advance. Music levels and finishing times depend on the municipality and the neighbours. Some of the island's most beautiful places, such as Teide National Park, are protected: they can be visited, but not used for private events. None of this is complicated, but it is easier when someone on the island handles it.

Weather contingencies

Wind and calima — a haze of fine Saharan dust — arrive a few times a year, and the north can sit under cloud while the south is clear. Every outdoor plan should have a covered alternative decided in advance, and every boat trip a sheltered route or a spare date.

Keeping it simple from a distance

The easiest way to plan from abroad is to deal with one person who handles everything on the ground: the villa, suppliers, transfers, permits and timings. Video calls replace site visits, a single proposal replaces a dozen quotes, and you arrive to find it done. That is how we work.
